Convocatòria Plataforma Salvem el Port Vell (reloaded)

La cultura marítima de Barcelona torna a estar en perill. Amb ella el barri mariner de la ciutat, la Barceloneta, i el model de port ciutadà pel que ja es va lluitar fa anys.
Moltes sabreu ja que l’Autoritat Portuària de Barcelona i Salamanca Group, de la mà de Marina 92 (MB92) volen tirar endavant un projecte de reforma del Port Vell de Barcelona, per convertir-lo en “una marina de primera categoria mundial”, privatitzant un espai públic que, com a tal, és de tots.
El port és part del caràcter de la nostra ciutat, de la se, i també la determina econòmica i socialment, en el cinquè any de la crisi el projecte que es vol portar a terme està orientat només als superrics, a aquells que no han estat afectats per ella. Lluny de voler mitigar els efectes de la crisi, l’Autoritat Portuària de Barcelona preveu un projecte comportarà tenir un reducte de megàrics al costat d’un dels barris de la ciutat amb major índex de pobresa, la explotació privada d’un territori que ens pertany a totes.
Som moltes les que no volem aquest projecte que ens sembla antisocial, d’altres creuen que s’ha de millorar; i totes pensem que la Reformar del Port Vell ha de beneficiar als veïns de Barcelona; no només a uns pocs. Per això us convoquem a totes el proper divendres 11 a les 19.00 a la Confavc per reeditar la Plataforma Salvem el Port Vell. Fa més de 20 anys la primera plataforma aconseguí salvar l’edifici on actualment està ubicat el Museu d’Història de Catalunya, i que l’espai públic del Port Vell pugés arribar a ser de gaudi ciutadà, que el patrimoni portuari no es privatitzés completament.
No pretenem reproduir la mateixa lluita, però sí sabem que hi ha analogies entre la que es portà a terme llavors, i els perills d’ara; tenim noves eines, hem aprés de l’experiència. No la neguem, sumen, copiem, modifiquem. És necessari articular diferents nivells d’intervenció que ens permetin aturar aquesta reforma i replantejar el model de port ciutadà que volem.
I encara hi som a temps.

Aquesta convocatòria és oberta a associacions de veïns, entitats de tot tipus, professionals, veïnes, assemblees de barri, a tot aquell que no està disposat a perdre el nostre Port Vell.

The sailing and the sea culture of Barcelona is in danger again. Barceloneta, the old sailors neighborhood of the city, and a certain model of people’s port that was struggled years ago, are now in danger again.
Probably many of you are already aware that the Port Authority of Barcelona and the enterprise Salamanca Group, helped by Marina 92, are caring out a new reform’s project to transform the old port of Barcelona into a new high category area, privatizing a public space that belongs to everyone in the city.
Socially and economically, the port is a main part of our city character and culture. In this fifth year of crisis, the reform’s project is only regarding those that haven’t been affected at all: the superrich. Far from aiming to cut down the crisis effects on to the population, what the Port Authority is doing is to launch a project that puts a minority of super rich people next to one of the neighborhoods with higher index of poverty in the city and also allow a private use of public land belonging to all of us.
There’s many of us rejecting this project because it’s lack of social awareness while others think that, with some improvement, this can be a good project. Despite of that we all agree that any changes in the old port must benefit the residents of Barcelona and not only a few. That’s why we call you to come next friday the 11th at 7pm at CONFAVC to reedit the Save the Old Port Platform. 20 years ago, the first platform achieved the conservation of the buildings where today the Catalonia History Museum is located, and that the old port area became a recreational area for residents and tourists, avoiding the port being completely privatized.
And we’re still on time.
